Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation &

Automated External Defibrillation Certificate Course (ACA)

 

Course Objective:

This course covers the knowledge and skills of Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (ACPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and choking management.

 

Course Contents:

  • Brief introduction of the function and structure of heart and lung
  • Anatomy and physiology of heart and lung
  • Introduction of heart diseases and prevention
  • Knowledge and skills of adult CPR
  • Knowledge and skills of adult choking management
  • Rhythms in cardiac arrest
  • Theory for Automated External Defibrillation
  • Automated External Defibrillator
  • Operational procedures of Automated External Defibrillator
  • Safety and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillator


Course Duration: 6 hours

 

Class Size: 6 to 8 candidates per class

 

Entry Requirement: Aged 15 or above

 

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, Putonghua or English

 

Instructor: Automated External Defibrillation Instructor of Hong Kong Red Cross

 

Course Fee: Including CPR & AED course manual with video, examination fee and certificate

Examination Contents:

1. Written examination

-  25 Multiple Choice Questions(complete within 25 minutes, passing score is 18 correct answers)

2. Practical examination

-  Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (ACPR)

-  Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

 

Certificate:

Students should fulfill the following criteria in order to get the Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate and Automated External Defibrillation Certificate with 3 years validity.
  • Eligible to attend the examinations with 100% attendance
  • Pass in both written and practical examinations

 

Re-examination:

  • Candidates who failed the written examination can apply for re-examination (REA) once. A fee of HK$150 will be charged. All re-examination should be taken within 6 months from the date of first examination.
  • Candidates who failed the practical examination of AED can re-take their examination once on-site for free.
 

Training Venue:

We could provide training at client’s premises; clients can also rent our premises for training. Please contact our staff for details.
