Advanced Health Worker Training Course (Mental Health Care)
Course Objectives:

To strengthen the understanding and nursing care skills of Health Worker about common mental illnesses.

To introduce the common treatment of psychiatric patients, in order to enhance the nursing skills and quality of care.
Course Content:

The definition of mental illnesses
-
The categorization of mental illnesses
-
Common mental illnesses: Schizophrenia, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Manic-Depressive Disorder or Bipolar Affective Disorder, Common mental health problems of the elderly (Geriatric depression, Dementia, Acute Delirium), Insomnia

The knowledge and skills of caring psychiatric patients
-
The treatment of common mental health problems
-
The management of violent behavior of patients with mental health problems

The community resources for psychiatric patients
Entry Requirements:

Graduates of “Foundation Certificate in Care-related Support Worker Training” / Certificate in Health Worker Training; or
-
Registered Health Worker
** Applicants must be able to provide copies of supporting document upon enrollment.

Certificate would be awarded upon fulfilment of following graduation requirements:

Attain a minimum of 80% attendance rate; and
