Advanced Health Worker Training Course (Diabetes Care)

 

Course Objectives:

  • To review the basic knowledge of Diabetic Mellitus (DM).
  • To equip the trainees with the basic knowledge and skills for caring patients with DM, in order to enhance nursing skills and quality of care.

 

Course Content:

  • Basic concept of DM
  • The diagnosis and treatment of DM
  • The methods of monitoring DM (include blood and urine test)
  • The diet management, medical treatment, sport therapy, foot care and wound care of DM patients
  • The psychological and mental care for DM patients
  • A healthy life style of DM patients

 

Entry Requirements:

  • Graduates of “Foundation Certificate in Care-related Support Worker Training” / Certificate in Health Worker Training; or
  • Registered Health Worker 

   ** Applicants must be able to provide copies of supporting document upon enrollment.

 

Course Fee:

$1,200

 

Course Duration:

18 hours (6 training sessions)

Registered Nurse

 

Course Assessment:

Certificate would be awarded upon fulfilment of following graduation requirements:

  • Attain a minimum of 80% attendance rate; and
  • Attain passing marks (50% or above) in both written examination and practical skill assessment

 

Remarks:

The Department may refuse to admit an applicant at its discretion.
