Domestic Helper First Aid Course (DHFA)

 

Course Objective:

It is a first aid training programme specially designed for domestic helpers. The programme aims at heightening the domestic helpers’ alertness in injuries and household accidents prevention as well as enabling them in providing proper first aid treatment and emergency handling.

 

Course Contents:

  • Principle of First Aid
  • Bleeding & Wounds
  • Shock & Fainting
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Unconsciousness
  • Febrile Convulsion (Seizures in children)
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Skeletal Injuries
  • Muscle Cramp
  • Insect Bites & Stings
  • Poisoning
  • Household safety measures and precautions
  • Household accident case drill

 

Course Duration: 8 hours

 

Class Size: 16 to 24 candidates per class

 

Entry Requirement: Domestic helper aged 15 or above

 

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, Putonghua or English

 

Instructor: First Aid Lecturer of Hong Kong Red Cross

 

Course Fee: Including notes, bandage & certificate

Assessment: Students will be assessed continuously during practical session

-  Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

-  Choking management

-  Bleeding and wounds management

 

Certificate: 

Students should fulfill the following criteria in order to get the Domestic Helper First Aid Course Attendance Certificate.

  • 100% attendance
  • Pass in all assessments

We could provide training at client’s premises; clients can also rent our premises for training. Please contact our staff for details.
