Automated External Defibrillation Certificate Refresher Course (AEDR)

 

Course Objective:

This course aims at refreshing the Automated External Defibrillation (AED) knowledge and skills for those who have been trained and qualified on it.

 

Course Content:

  • Theory refreshing
  • Practice operational procedures of Automated External Defibrillator

 

Course Duration: 3 hours

 

Class Size: 6 to 8 candidates per class

 

Entry Requirement: Holder of AED Certificate issued by either one of the recognized authorities listed below:
(Accept application with copy of certificate which expired within 6 months on course commencement date)

  • Hong Kong Red Cross
  • Hong Kong Auxiliary Medical Services
  • Hong Kong St. John Ambulance
  • Scout Association of Hong Kong
  • A&E Training Centre, Hospital Authority
  • Any training bodies of American Heart Association
  • Any training bodies of National Safety Council
  • AHA Certificate issued by any training bodies of American Heart Association

 

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, Putonghua or English

 

Instructor: Automated External Defibrillation Instructor of Hong Kong Red Cross

 

Course Fee: Including CPR & AED course manual with video, examination fee and certificate

Examination Contents:

1. Written examination

-  25 Multiple Choice Questions (complete within 25 minutes, passing score is 18 correct answers)

2. Practical examination

-  Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

 

Certificate:

Students should fulfill the following criteria in order to get the Automated External Defibrillation Certificate with 3 years validity.
  • Eligible to attend the examinations with 100% attendance
  • Pass in both written and practical examinations

 

Certificate Renewal:

Before the expiry date of the certificate or within 6 months after the expiry date of the certificate, participants can attend an Automated External Defibrillation Certificate Refresher Course (AEDR) and pass the examinations to renew their certificates with 3 years validity.

 

Re-examination:

  • Candidates who failed the written examination can apply for re-examination (REA) once. A fee of HK$150 will be charged. All re-examination should be taken within 6 months from the date of first examination.
  • Candidates who failed the practical examination can re-take their examination once on-site for free.
 

Training Venue:

We could provide training at client’s premises; clients can also rent our premises for traininge. Please contact our staff for details.
