Adult & Child Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrillation Certificate Course (Blended-Learning) (AAB)

 

Course Objective:

This course aims to provide basic knowledge and skills of Adult & Child Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and choking management to the students via online study, along with face-to-face practical sessions.

 

Course Contents:

  • Brief introduction of the function and structure of heart and lung
  • Anatomy and physiology of heart and lung
  • Introduction of heart diseases and prevention
  • Knowledge and skills of adult and child CPR
  • Knowledge and skills of adult and child choking management
  • Rhythms in cardiac arrest
  • Theory for Automated External Defibrillation
  • Automated External Defibrillator
  • Operational procedures of Automated External Defibrillator
  • Safety and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillator

 

Estimated Online Learning Hour(s): 2 hours
Practical Sessions Duration: 5 hours (including examination)

 

Class Size: 6 to 8 candidates per class

 

Entry Requirement: Aged 15 or above

 

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese, Putonghua or English

Examination Contents:

1. Written examination

-  25 Multiple Choice Questions(complete within 25 minutes, passing score is 18 correct answers)

2. Practical examination

-  Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (ACPR)

-  Child Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CCPR)

-  Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

 

Certificate:

Students should fulfill the following criteria in order to get the Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate, Child Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate and Automated External Defibrillation Certificate with 3 years validity.
  • Complete the theory part via online learning platform before examination
  • 100% attendance rate of practical session
  • Pass in both written and practical examinations

* No examination result will be given and no certificate will be issued if the students do not fulfill the above requirements.

 

Re-examination:

  • Candidates who failed the written examination can apply for re-examination (REA) once. A fee of HK$150 will be charged. All re-examination should be taken within 6 months from the date of first examination.
  • Candidates who failed the practical examination of AED can re-take their examination once on-site for free.
 

Training Venue:

We could provide training at client’s premises; clients can also rent our premises for training. Please contact our staff for details.

 

*Remarks:

1. Estimated Online Learning Hour: Actual learning hour may depend on individual progress. Login notice email will be sent around 1 week** before practical curriculum. Students are required to finish reading all pages in the online study part using their own account before the end of exam and such contents will not be accessible after the exam.

2. Online Study Requirement: Courseware will be in the best view using Chrome browser in Windows desktop computer with good network connection. (It is NOT recommended to use mobile phone to view the courseware which may involve great use of data.) and please avoid open more than one tab of browsing.

3. Hong Kong Red Cross reserves all rights to make alternation on the above terms and acceptance of student enrollment.

 

** The online curriculums of this blended learning course would start 1 week before practical curriculums. Corporate or organization shall take the first day of the online curriculum as the course commencement date of the class for application.
